EXPOCOBRE 2026 comes to PERUMIN 37 to drive the transformation of copper mining

Lima, September 2025. – EXPOCOBRE 2026 confirmed their participation in PERUMIN 37 Mining Convention, to be held from September 22 to 26 in Arequipa, consolidating itself as a key space for the dissemination of its value proposition and the promotion of the third edition of the global copper mining fair.

The organization reported that they will be present at the Stand 1081 – Hall 6, where information will be presented on the keynote lecture program, specialized panels, and the call for technical papers, which aims to bring together researchers, professionals, and startups to propose innovative solutions to the sector's main challenges.

Business and Knowledge Platform

During PERUMIN 37, the team from EXPOCOBRE 2026 it will cater to businessmen, authorities, and representatives of the mining value chain to explain how the fair – to be held from April 27 to 29, 2026, at the Jockey Exhibition Center in Lima – is projected as the main business and knowledge platform for the copper sector in Latin America.

The event is organized by InterMet Peru y Viceversa Consulting, two institutions working together to promote spaces for technical and strategic exchange that strengthen the competitiveness of copper mining in the region.

In this context, Eng. Alfredo Olaya, General Manager of InterMet, highlighted that Peru is going through a key moment to define the future of its mining industry.

“Peru is in the sights of global mining. Demand for copper is growing, but so are social and environmental demands. Are we ready to respond to this challenge and keep the country an attractive destination for investment?” he commented.

Eng. Olaya explained that the fair will be the stage where the main challenges of the sector will be analyzed. “In this edition, leaders of strategic sectors will debate the barriers that are currently holding back the sector, growth opportunities, new technologies, and the direction Peruvian mining should take in the coming years. It will also be the event with the most opportunities for networking and business among all involved parties,” he added.

Call for Technical Papers

One of the main topics that will be presented is Call for Technical Papers, open until December 15, 2025, which will award the best projects in two categories:

  • Copper Technology Innovation Forum: USD 5,000 prize for the best technical work.
  • University Mining Research Forum: USD 3,000 prize for the best academic work.

The selected works will be presented in the main auditorium before a specialized audience composed of mining company CEOs, authorities, and international experts.

Technical Conferences on the InterMet Agenda

InterMet He also recalled that, as part of its events calendar, the IV International Congress on Sampling and Quality Control will be held in Lima on October 6 and 7, 2025, an event that will bring together specialists in metallurgical reconciliation and balancing from all over the region.

This event, along with other congresses such as Flotation 2026, Comminution, Mining 5.0, Water and Tailings 2026, and Operational Excellence 2026, is part of InterMet's strategy to drive technical knowledge and strengthen the competitiveness of the mining industry.
