According to the Mining Statistical Bulletin Ministry of Energy and Mines<\/strong> (MINEM), national production of copper<\/strong> reached 242,740 fine metric tons (FMT) in August 2025, representing a 6.5% increase from the previous month (228,007 FMT). However, compared to August 2024, there was a slight decline of 1.6% year-over-year.<\/p>

Peruvian copper mining remains one of the key pillars of the national economy, accounting for more than 30% of mining exports and serving as a key driver of development in the producing regions.
